Intermediate education examination kicks off, over 600,000 pupils sitting

A total of 641,187 candidates, including 15,964 independent candidates, are sitting, today, Tuesday for the intermediate education examination (BEM) for the June 2021 session, scheduled from June 15 to 17, according to the National Examinations Office and competition (ONEC).

ALGIERS- More than 600, 000 pupils on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021, started the intermediate school certificate exam (BEM), which will spans three days.

The number of pupils registered for this examination is 641,187, 625,223 of whom are schooled (292,767 boys and 332,456 girls) and 15,964 are non-schooled candidates (11100 boys and 4864 girls), according to the National Office for Examinations (ONEC).

The marking of the exam papers will start on 22 June and will continue until 3 July 2021.

All the human and material means have been mobilized for the smooth conduct of this examination, according to Minister of National Education Mohamed Ouadjaout who reassured that all health and prevention measures of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic have been implemented.

The Commander of the National Gendarmerie has set up a special security mechanism nationwide to ensure the security of all the schools located in its jurisdiction.
