Western Sahara: President Tebboune visits President Ghali, hospitalized in Algiers


ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, paid, on Wednesday, June 2, a visit to the Saharawi President, Brahim Ghali, admitted early in the morning to the Mohamed Seghir Nekkache military hospital of Ain Naadja in Algiers.

President Tebboune inquired about the state of health of the Saharawi president, together with the Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army (ANP), Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha. T

he Saharawi President, Brahim Ghali arrived Wednesday, very early in the morning, in Algiers after his admission to a Spanish hospital, his medical staff having considered that his hospitalization was no longer necessary, indicated the Saharawi ambassador in Algiers, Abdelkader Taleb Omar.

In a statement to APS, the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) explained that President Brahim Ghali arrived in Algiers at around 3 a.m. from Spain on Wednesday to continue his recovery.

On the other hand, the ambassador indicated that the state of health of President Ghali is constantly improving, which no longer requires his hospitalization in Spain.

The diplomat expressed his satisfaction with the improvement in the state of health of President Ghali, drawing attention to “the failure of Moroccan propaganda which tried to undermine the struggle of the Saharawi people by targeting one of its symbols “.

The Sahrawi Presidency stated in a statement today, quoted by Sahara Press Service (SPS) that the Sahrawi President, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, decided today, Tuesday, in Madrid, to “fully cooperate” with the Spanish National Court and to respond “voluntarily” to its questions related to alleged accusations.

The Sahrawi Presidency affirmed that the decision of President Ghali’s to “fully cooperation” with the Spanish judiciary on any basis reflects the will of the Sahrawi people and their leadership in upholding the truth and adhering to the principles of justice.”

The presidency considered also that this “voluntary step despite the status, the responsibility and the position, proves to the enemy that he will never succeed in continuously falsifying the facts and usurping the Sahrawi people, who is in his right, and adhere to justice and legitimacy”.
