ALGIERS- Prime Minister Mr. Abdelaziz Djerad stressed, today, Wednesday, May 19th, 2021, in Algiers, that Algeria will not resort to external borrowing and approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for loans, rejecting all kinds of economic dictation.

In this vein, he added, as part of his supervision of the commemoration ceremony of the 65th anniversary of the National Student Day, May 19, 1956 at the University of “Ibrahim Sultan Chaibout” – Alger 3, that Algeria is a sovereign country which, energetically, refuses to submit economically.

On a related note, and amid the health crisis witnessed by the globe and induced by the outbreak of the pandemic Covid-19 and its variants, the Premier pointed out that one of Algeria’s priorities is to maintain economic and social balance.

On another level, he explained that the university contributes to building Algeria at various levels. To this end, Mr. Djerad stressed that the memory of May 19, 1956, is the gateway to preserving national sovereignty, and the student’s bet today is to preserve our sovereignty, adding that students should participate in political life.

On the National Student day, Prime Minister, accompanied by a number of government members, paid a visit to an exhibition of innovative projects on digitization and its applications. In addition, he will supervise the naming of some scientific and sports facilities at the university.
