Previously, the public prosecutor at the military court requested 20 years in prison against Bouazza on Thursday.
Three other officers were on trial in the same case. They are Colonel Lotfi who received 15 years in prison and two officers, named Nabil and Iskander, each of them received 10 years in prison.

Bouazza Ouassini was dismissed on Monday April 13, 2020 by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and replaced by Major General Abdelghani Rachedi.

The Blida Military Court of Appeal issued a verdict, on Tuesday, condemning the former Director General of Internal Security (DGIS), General Ouassini Bouazza to eight (08) years in prison with a fine of 500,000 Da for contempt of body, use of firearms, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
