ALGIERS- Sonatrach released a new press release on Tuesday, March 30, reporting the results of the analyzes, conducted by a team of experts from the Sroup to proceed with the analysis of liquids and gases emanating from the drilling of an artesian well in the region El Mera, in the town of Ouled Rahmoune.

“After studying the results of the various analyzes, SONATRACH informs the public opinion that the liquids and gases emanating from this artesian water well constitute a very degraded motor oil proven by the presence of metals in large quantities which is probably due to the pollution, ”explained the state-owned group in a press release.

As a result, “it was agreed with the authorities in place to secure the perimeter and preserve the region’s water resources through the plugging of the well in question” added the same source.

Immediately after the information on hydrocarbons in the region of Ouled Rahmoune, a team of multidisciplinary specialists was dispatched to the site to carry out rigorous analyzes and collect samples of all the substances present there.
