ALGIERS- The Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abderrahmane Benbouzid pointed out, on Monday, March 30th, 2021, that “Algeria has signed a contract for the purchase of 1 million doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V “.

Without giving a date on the arrival of the Russian vaccine, Mr. Benbouzid precised that this batch will arrive before the end of the month of April.

In this vein, the Minister informed that “contracts are signed by Algeria for the purchase of Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson vaccines in addition to new doses of the Chinese one.”

As a reminder, Algeria, which has already started its vaccination campaign since the end of the month of January, has so far received 50,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca, in addition to a donation of 200,000 doses of the Chinese vaccine.
