Covid-19 in Algeria: Pasteur Institute reveals date of 2nd batch of Russian Sputnik V vaccine reception

ALGERIA- Algeria will receive another batch of the Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine, tomorrow, Friday, March 12th, 2021, announced the pasteur institute of Algeria.

As such, the Director General of the Pasteur Institute of Algeria, Doctor Fawzi Derrar confirmed, today, Thursday, March 11th, 2021 on the sidelines of the inauguration of the vigilance training session regarding the use of medicines and the installation of the national network, the imminent reception of 700,000 doses of Russian anti-Covid-19 Sputnik V vaccine .

On the other hand, the same official revealed that Algeria has completed the “negotiations with the American leboratoires Pfizer, Johnson-Johnson (recently accredited) and” Noavavax “, while the marketing authorization is being validated by the US drug agency ”.

In the same vein, Mr. Derrar reported on “other consultations in progress with a second Chinese leboratory to acquire the necessary doses and” to accelerate the rate of the vaccination aimed at achieving herd immunity “.

Noting that the first shipment of the Russian anti-Covid-19 vaccine “Sputnik V” landed at Bouafrik Airport (province of Blida), on January 29th, 2021.
