Covid-19: USA to donate more than 1.8 million doses of vaccines, by summer, to Algeria

The United States Embassy in Algiers announced this Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, in a statement posted on its Facebook page, that the United States intends to donate more than 1.8 million doses of three different vaccines against Coronavirus Covid-19.

ALGERIA- The United States Embassy in Algiers announced this Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, in a statement posted on its official Facebook page, that the United States intends to donate more than 1.8 million doses of three different vaccines against Coronavirus/ Covid-19 to Algeria.

“The United States is proud to be the single largest donor to COVAX, the global initiative to ensure equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines,” read the statement of the embassy.

And to add: ” We are working with our partners at Gavi, the Global Vaccine Alliance; the World Health Organization; and the European Commission to ensure that international resources can be coordinated to aid in the eradication of COVID-19.”

The communiqué explained that: “Through COVAX, 1,881,600 doses of the AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BionTech and/or Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be donated to Algeria by this summer.”
