The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Abdelhamid Hamdani, revealed that the program enacted by the ministry is an effective tool for diversifying the economy.
As such, the minister explained, during an evaluation meeting with the sector’s officials, that the roadmap 2020/2024 was designed to make a qualitative leap and achieve food security.
The minister added that the ministry pays a great attention to the requirements of farmers, explaining that the government drew up, 7 months ago, a roadmap, comprising a range of axes, some of which culminated in a remarkable response, such as: irrigation issues.
However, he underlined that, “generally speaking, we are far from the goals that have been lined up,” adding that the goals should not be just slogans, before further explaining that there has been an actual presence of executives and officials in some provinces of the country to accompany farmers and meet their demands, while a total absence of executives has been observed in other provinces.
He referred, in this vein, to the bureaucracy prevailing in the sector, highlighting that some parties are objecting the implementation of president’s instructions.
