Electricity: Algeria takes over presidency of Comelec for three years


Algeria, represented by Sonelgaz, took over, as of Monday, February 23, the presidency of the Maghreb Electricity Committee (Comelec) for a three-year term (2021-2023), a statement from Sonelgaz said on Tuesday.

The decision was taken during the Comelec meeting, held on Tuesday by videoconference, with the participation of the Chairman and CEO of the Sonelgaz group, Chaher Boulakhras, alongside the members of the Committee, representatives of the electricity companies of Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Mauritania, addedthe same source.

During the meeting, the secretary general of the Maghreb Electricity Committee presented the 2020 activity report and the 2021 roadmap before addressing several issues, including that of financial contributions.
