Weather alert: Strong winds, gusting up to 80 km / h, sand blowing and poor visibility

ALGIERS- Strong gusty winds, exceeding 80 km / h, are expected to blow, as of today, Sunday, Feb 21st, 2021, accompanied with sand blowing and poor visibility along southern provinces of the country, indicated the National Meteorological Office in a special weather bulletin (BMS ).

According to the same report, the concerned provinces are: Tindouf, Bashar, Adrar, Ghardaia, Naama, Al Bayadh, Sidi Bel Abbas, Mascara, Saida, Tiaret, Laghouat, Djelfa and M’Sila.

Bulletin validity: As of this morning to 08:00 p.m.

As long as winds’ speed is concerned, it will exceed 80km / h, with sandstorms, causing vision difficulties, highlighted the same source.

Another bulletin warned of gusty winds, exceeding 60 km / h, as of Sunday morning until 09:00 p.m.

The concerned provinces are: Chlef, Blida, Bouira, Tlemcen, Tizi Ouzou, Algiers, Medea, Mostaganem, Oran, Boumerdes, Tissemsilt, Tipaza, Ain Defla, Ain Temouchent and Relizane.
