Sending Algerian armed forces to Sahel: Defense Ministry categorically refutes

The Ministry of National Defense reacted, on Sunday, to fake news relayed on social networks, reporting the sending of ANP troops outside the territory as part of the G5 Sahel, under the command of foreign powers.

“Certain parties and spokespersons of the discord have relayed, through their subversive pages and accounts on social networks, unfounded allegations, claiming that the actions and operations carried out by the military institution, internally and externally, respond to agendas and instructions from foreign parties, and that the National People’s Army is preparing to send troops to participate in military missions outside our national borders under the hat of foreign powers within the framework of the G5 Sahel, which is false and inadmissible, “wrote the ministry in a statement on its official website, adding that those irresponsible act are committed by agents of Moroccan Makhzen and Zionists.

To this end, the Ministry of Defense reassured the national opinion that “the People’s National Army, worthy heir to the National Liberation Army, has never been, and will never be subject in its actions except to the authority of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, and in accordance with his explicit constitutional missions and the laws of the Republic, in the defense of sovereignty, integrity and national security. ”

The statement recalled that “the participation of the National People’s Army outside the borders of the country is the decision of the Algerian people, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic.”
