Covid-19: New confirmed cases, deaths in Algeria

The number of Coronavirus (Covid-19) contaminations recorded an increase in Algeria, with the identification of 182 new confirmed cases during the last 24 hours.

The new assessment communicated by Pr Djamel Fourar, spokesperson for the scientific committee responsible for monitoring the evolution of the Coronavirus, reported a total of 2954 deaths and 111600 confirmed cases, with 4 new deaths and 182 new infections in 24 hours.

Concerning the number of recoveries, their total number reached 76857 patients, with 157 new ones, while 18 others are in intensive care units.

Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad decided to lift the restrictive measures on certain activities, as part of the new measures on the management of health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Prime Minister office said in a press release.

Thus, it was decided to partially lift the measure to close used vehicle sales markets throughout the country, according to the same source.

However, the opening of used vehicle sales markets will be authorized every fifteen (15) days and subject to the measures applicable to ordinary markets and weekly markets relating to the control system by the competent services.

The Prime Minister, also, decided to lift the measure limiting the time slot of activity at 9 p.m., for:

Trade in household appliances;
The trade in decoration and household articles;
The trade in bedding and furnishing fabrics;
The trade in sporting goods;
Pastries ;
The trade in games and toys;
Malls;
Hairdressing salons for women / men.

The measure to limit the activities of cafes, restaurants and fast-food to take-out only, has also been lifted, according to the press release from the PM’s services, which underlined that this measure remains subject to the preventive measures.
