The Annaba port company, on Thursday, concluded three trade agreements with economic partners producing cement for the export of one million tonnes of clinker in 2021 to Côte d’Ivoire.
As such, these agreements were concluded with the industrial group of cements of Algeria (GICA), the Lafarge -Algeria Cilas group and the company Biskria Ciment.
The agreements are part of the national strategy aimed at promoting non-hydrocarbon exports and coordinating efforts between commercial ports and economic and industrial operators to establish a favorable environment for exports, indicated Achour Djelloul, CEO of the Port Services Group who attended the signing in the presence of the Wali of Annaba, Djamel-Eddine Brimi, adding that in the space of a year, Algeria went from the stage of importer to that of cement exporter.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony by the CEO of the Annaba port company, Kheiredine Boumendjel and three exporters namely; Abdennour Chouakri for Cilas Lafarge, Hafidh Ouchich for the GICA group and Mohamed Laïd Houki for the Biskria company Cement, attended an export operation of 45,000 tonnes of clinker by the GICA group to the Ivory Coast .
This is the 4th clinker export operation from this port since early January 2021 on behalf of GICA and Cilas for a volume of 200,000 tonnes.
Biskria Ciment is a new operator engaging for the first time in clinker export operations from the port of Annaba.
