Mali Agreement: FM Boukadoum chairs works of monitoring committee

ALGIERS- Foreign Minister, Sabri Boukadoum, chaired on Thursday the 42nd session of the Monitoring Committee of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement in Mali, resulting from the Algiers Process, hosted for the first time by the city of Kidal (northern Mali).

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, stressed last Thursday that the meeting of the monitoring committee of the peace and reconciliation agreement in Mali, resulting from the Algiers process, hosted for the first time by the city of Kidal (northern Mali), is an unprecedented event which “will give a strong impetus” to this process sponsored by Algeria.

Mr. Boukadoum, who has been on a working visit to Mali since last Wednesday, said on his Twitter account: “Today (Thursday) I chaired the work of the 42nd session of the agreement monitoring committee of peace and reconciliation in Mali, resulting from the Algiers process, hosted for the first time by the city of Kidal in northern Mali ”.

He added that “this constitutes an unprecedented event and an important indicator capable of giving a strong impetus to the peace and reconciliation process sponsored by Algeria, in cooperation with the international community represented by the committee”.

Mr. Boukadoum was received by the Malian President, Bah N’Daw, with whom he discussed bilateral relations and the prospects for strengthening them, as well as the means to accelerate the pace of the implementation of the peace and reconciliation agreement resulting from Algiers process.

The Algerian foreign minister, also, had talks with the vice-president of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goïta, and the Minister of National Reconciliation, Colonel Ismael Wagué, with whom he discussed bilateral relations and avenues of promotion of the peace and reconciliation process that Algeria accompanies and supports. Mr. Boukadoum was, also, received, in Bamako, by Mr. Zeyni Moulaye, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali.

The two ministers agreed to continue efforts to promote bilateral relations and give a strong impetus to the peace and reconciliation process in this country ”.
