Algeria-Congo: Ways, means to advance bilateral cooperation, regional issues addressed

The Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum , on an official visit to the DRC, was received, yesteray, January 26th, 2021, by the Congolese President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, a statement from the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

Mr Boukadoum conveyed to the Congolese President a message from the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and met with his counterpart, Ms Tumba Nzeza Marie, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DRC.

The minister’s visit to Kinshasa is part of the strengthening of bilateral relations, the examination of ways and means to advance bilateral cooperation, as well as preserving the tradition of consultation on regional and international issues of common interest, in anticipation to the taking, by the DRC, of ​​the rotating presidency of the African Union (AU).

Earlier, Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum met, on Tuesday, on the sidelines of his visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with his Sudanese counterpart, Omar Qamar El Din, with whom he tackled the fraternity relations and regional issues of common interest.

“On the sidelines of my official visit to the DRC, I had talks, on Tuesday, with Mr. Omar Qamar El Din, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, a brotherly country,” tweeted Mr. Boukadoum, specifying that the talks focused on the bonds of fraternity and the regional issues of common interest, in particular, the question of the Renaissance dam and its repercussions on the stability of the region”.
