“The imports of frozen meat is no longer allowed,” stated Ahmed Mokrani, the director of the organization of markets, commercial activities and regulated professions at the Ministry of Commerce, Ahmed Mokrani.

Guest at Ennahar TV, Mr. Mokrani said that this procedure came in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

As such, the same spokesman explained that banning the import of frozen meat is due to its availability in the country. For him, sufficient quantities are available to meet all the needs of citizens.

In this vein, he explained that a program has been set by the Ministry with a view to supplying the internal provinces with livestock that is raised in the South.

The Director revealed, in this vein, that some shipments were licensed by the Ministry and that their distribution was completed by the end of last December.

Regarding prices, the official assured that both red and white meats are available in abundance and will be affordable for everyone.
