“New procedure has been implemented with a view to speeding up the registration of the coronavirus vaccine,” highlighted the President of the Algerian biotechnology company Salaheddine Sahrawi.
Speaking to the National Radio, the president said that “Algeria has implemented an accelerated registration procedure for anti-covid-19 vaccines, through the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products (NAPP), at the instigation of the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry, as well as the Institute “Pasteur Algeria”, which works in close collaboration with the latter.
“Usually, the registration process takes a long time all over the world but with the health situation, this process will be accelerated”, explained dr sahraoui, specifying that “the vaccine registration files are clearly analyzed by the experts “.
“The implementation of the vaccine went through a good scientific course”
Referring to the process of acquiring an anti-coronavirus vaccine, Pr Sahrawi said that the vaccine acquisition had gone through “a good scientific journey”.
“All the vaccines which have been approved protect fairly well (…) it is very important to reassure the population that the acquisition of the vaccine has gone through a good scientific course”, he explained.
“A vaccine with 92% or 95% therapeutic efficacy is absolutely remarkable and reassuring,” added Pr Sahrawi.
