ALGIERS- Eight young novelists were shorlisted in the 7th edition of the Mohammed Dib Literary Prize, announced the association “la Grande Maison”, organizer of the Prize. In Arabic, the short list includes the novel “Maraa iftiradhia” “Virtual Woman” by Leila Amer, “Linarkous tarantilla thouma namout” “Let’s dance the tarantilla and then die”
by Abdel Mounaim Besayah and “Kafi Rich” by Mohamed Ftelina. The novels, “Tanagit” by Sahli Walid and “Kawitu” by Murad Zimu, were selected for the Amazigh language.
“Ecorces” by Bali Hajar, “Body writing: Life and death of Karim fatimi writer (1968-2014)” by Benfodil Mustapha and Alter Ego by Hanane Bourai were chosen in French.
The list of winners, in all three languages, will be announced on October 20 on the organizing association’s Facebook page.
Were awarded at the previous edition, organized in 2018, the novels “Moul El hira” in Arabic by Ismail Ibrir, “Enza” by Sami Messaoudene in Tamazight and “defeat” by Mohamed Saadoune in French.
Organized by the association “la Grande Maison” of Tlemcen, the Mohammed Dib Literary Prize aims to encourage literary creation among young people in the three languages: Arabic, Amazigh and French.
