ALGIERS- The Algerian-Spanish Business Forum kicked off Thursday with the participation of a bout fifty companies and employers’ organizations of the two countries.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez, who is on a two-day official visit to Algeria since Wednesday.
The Spanish business delegation is made up of around fifteen large companies active in particular in the energy, automotive, agri-food industry and construction sectors, as well as four organizations: the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations, the General Union of Workers and the Agency for the Promotion of Work-Foment del Trebal.
On the Algerian side, around thirty public and private companies participate in the forum as well as the main employers’ organizations.
The meeting is also marked by an important official participation with the presence in particular of the Algerian ministers in charge of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Energy, Culture, Industry, and Foreign Trade.
“B2B” business meetings will be organized within the framework of this forum in order to discuss the possibilities of forging partnerships between Algerian and Spanish companies in the various fields of activity.
