Algerian state agency OAIC purchased about 117,000 tonnes of animal feed barley to be sourced from optional origins in a tender on Wednesday, European traders said in initial assessments.
One trading house sold about 57,000 tonnes at $221.25 a tonne c&f, another seller sold some 30,000 tonnes also at $221.25 a tonne c&f and a third trading house sold around 30,000 tonnes at $220.50 a tonne c&f, according to early trader estimates.
The tender had sought a nominal 50,000 tonnes for shipment between Nov. 1-15 and Nov. 16-30, they said.
