ALGIERS- The General Directorate of Customs (DGD) announced, Thursday in a press release, the continuation of the partial periodic movement of Algerian Customs officials through the appointment of six (06) divisional inspection heads and fourteen (14) heads of department of a posteriori control throughout the national territory.
The movement concerned the divisional customs inspections falling under the territorial jurisdiction of the wilayas of Béchar, Ghardaïa, Mostaganem, Tipaza, Oum El Bouaghi and Annaba, the statement said.
This movement has also affected the regional posteriori control services under the territorial and regional jurisdiction of Laghouat, Ouargla, Illizi, Tamanrasset, Bechar, Oran, Chlef, Blida, Algiers outside, Algiers port, Sétif, Constantine, Tébessa and Annaba.
According to the same source, this periodic movement intervenes “to concretize the strategic role of the Customs in the field, to consolidate its role of control in the face of fraud, smuggling and cross-border economic crimes and to boost the operationality of the Algerian Customs services.
The movement also aims to protect the national economy and the citizen while preserving the interests of the Public Treasury.
