ALGIERS- A dozen of Algerian cartoonists will participate in the 24th International Comic Strip Fair of Tazarka, in Tunisia, which kicked off on Thursday, said the event’s organizers.
In order to respect the measures to fight against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers of the show have opted for a virtual version with online workshops, round tables and rich video content that will be broadcast on social networks.
The work of Bouchra Mokhtari, Nesma Mesbah, Mahrez Si Saber, Ahmed Abzouzi, Sofiane Belaskri, Samir Togui will be highlighted with other Tunisian designers such as; Abir Gasmi, Noha Habaieb and Chakib Daoud.
Video portraits of each of the artists will be broadcast on the event’s pages on social networks in addition to a round table on the history and development of comics in Algeria hosted by the academic, journalist and writer Lazhari Labter.
Live artistic performances and competitions for children are also on the program of the event.
Organized by the Tunisian cultural association “Circle of friends of the image”, this fair, which continues until August 16, aims to discover young talents, support artistic creativity in children and to contribute to the development of visual arts.
