ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said, Wednesday in Algiers, that the decisions to terminate the functions of a number of local officials represent “the beginning” of a process consisting in holding those who have shown “passivity” in terms of dealing with the concerns and problems of citizens in gray areas responsible.
“Partial decisions have been taken (…) to terminate the functions of some local officials. This is only a start, as we will hold accountable all those who fail to take charge and resolve the problems of the citizens “, affirmed the President of the Republic in a speech delivered at the opening of the Government-Walis meeting.
In this regard, the President of the Republic considered that these behaviors constitute “a continuation of the negative discourse advocated by the gang”.
As a reminder, the President of the Republic had signed on August 8 decrees terminating the functions of several heads of Daïras and suspending, for investigation, a number of presidents of the Communal People’s Assembly (P / APC) for failure to carry out planned projects in gray areas.
