The President of the Republic made a frank speech at the government-walis meeting, devoted to the evaluation of the implementation of the guidelines of the President of the Republic, addressing the walis, and urging them to take charge of the concerns of citizens.

The president evoked, during the meeting, several negative points including, among others, the embezzlement in the realization of projects in gray areas and the water cuts during Aid El Adha. ”We will hold responsible all those who do not respond favorably to the demands of citizens ”, warned President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

“The bad practices must be banned,” stressed President Tebboune. “I don’t understand today in 2020, after the“ blessed ”Hirak” and all the decisions taken by the government, we are witnessing catastrophic scenes, where officials stand in front of the camera, to inaugurate a water meter in grey areas. But they pretend to apply the instructions, as soon as the camera is not placed, they remove the electric or water meter and go home… ”, regretted President Tebboune.

The President of the Republic added: “I thought that making films, and that kind of behavior does not exist anymore. The citizen is aware of everything. We aim to build a new Algeria, by improving the living environment of the citizen, he said. In the same vein, Mr. Tebboune warned, “there are complicity in the Administrations and investigations are in progress.” However, the President of the Republic maintained “that there are forces of inertia which work against the stability of the country ”.

This meeting, the second of its kind, during the current year after the one organized in mid-February, is held at the Palais des Nations (Club des Pins), under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Abdelaziz Djerad, members of the government, central and local officials and elected officials.

The meeting will focus mainly on the evaluation of the stages of implementation of the development of gray areas, the evaluation of the implementation of preventive measures against the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, local economic development, digitization, statistics and the fight against bureaucracy, as well as preparations for the social re-entry and security of property and people.

These themes will be discussed in interactive workshops at the International Conference Center, bringing together the various participants and which will be moderated by the walis continuously throughout this meeting.

At the end of the work, spread over two days (August 12 and 13), the meeting should lead to a series of operational recommendations likely to transform the vision of the public authorities into concrete development actions in all sectors.
