ALGIERS – The trial of former deputy Baha Eddine Tliba was adjourned, Wednesday, at the Sidi M’hamed court in Algiers to September 2, due to the absence of witnesses, a judicial source declared.

Baha Eddine Tliba, who was placed under a committal warrant in El Harrach prison in October 2019, is accused, in particular, of “money laundering and “vote buying in the 2017 legislative elections” .

In September 2019, the People’s National Assembly voted, during a closed session, to lift Baha Eddine Tliba’s parliamentary immunity, following a request from the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals.
