Higher education: Bilateral cooperation with United Arab Emirates reviewed

ALGIERS- The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdelbaqi Benziane, discussed, Monday in Algiers, with the Ambassador of the State of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Yousef Saif Khamis Sabaa Al Ali, the ways and means of consolidating bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research, in particular through the exchange of experiences and expertise and the reactivation of twinning agreements.

The talks between the two parties “focused on the consolidation of bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research where the cooperation relations between the two countries are not at the level of the aspirations of the two brother peoples”, the ministry said in a press release.

In this regard, the two parties agreed to “reactivate and update the eleven (11) twinning agreements”, to encourage the exchange of visits by managers and teacher-researchers and to work towards the implementation of projects and joint research programs with a view to achieving concrete and mutually beneficial results from this cooperation “.

The meeting also made it possible to agree on “the establishment of joint commissions in order to boost these relations in favor of the equivalence of diplomas, the monitoring and evaluation of a balanced cooperation in terms of exchange of scientists missions from teachers and students, the statement concluded.
