The Minister of Industry, Ferhat Aït Ali Braham reported Tuesday in Algiers on plans to launch several partnership projects with Chinese companies in several fields of industrial activities.
At the end of his meeting with the General Manager of the Algerian branch of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), Zhong Benfeng, the minister said that the meeting focused on “the future and prospects of relations between the Algerian public and private sector and Chinese companies in general and the CCECC company in particular”.
To this end, the minister said that the CCECC company proposed “financing and membership, not as entrepreneurs as in the past, but rather as investors and partners in several projects considered important for the national economy”.
Among other proposed areas of investment, Mr. Aït Ali cited “the implementation and management of industrial zones and business parks, the renewal of industrial equipment and the revival of certain groups and sectors at a standstill”, considering that the CCECC company has the technical expertise and financial means to carry out these projects.
In parallel with the proposals of the Chinese company, the minister said that the Algerian side presented to the company “the new Algerian vision to revive the economy, the texts and new legislation that allow to establish partnerships” with a new approach.
For his part, Mr. Zhong Benfeng said that his company has “presented to the minister its potentialities in several industrial fields”, adding that it “wishes to contribute to the development of the industrial sector in Algeria”.
Present in Algeria since 1985 in several projects, the CCECC company is active in several fields including railways, tunnels, roads, ports and airports.
Internationally, the company is present in 103 countries throughout the world (Asia, Europe, Africa and America).
