ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Abdelmajid Tebboune, extended on Thursday his greetings to the Algerian people, on the occasion of the celebration of Eid al-Adha, on Friday.
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”
Allah wanted us to spend another Eid under the same conditions as Eid El-Ftir due to the persistence of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has left tens of thousands of Algerians, Like Muslims around the world, this year, unable to perform the rite of Hajj in addition to maintaining the closure of mosques and places of worship.
Paying tribute to the memory of those who left us as a result of this pandemic, we send our sincere and heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones, wishing a speedy recovery to the infected patients.
On this occasion, I would like to pay particular tribute to the health personnel, all bodies included, as well as to all the volunteers who stand by their sides.
We would have liked the situation to be different in order to celebrate the Sunnah of the prophet Ibrahim El Khalil (Peace be upon him) as usual, in communion and conviviality.
Personally, I would have liked so much to accomplish, among the faithful, the prayer of Eid El-Adha at the Great Mosque of Algiers and proceed, thus, to its inauguration to believers, but Allah has decided otherwise and we can only resign ourselves to His will.
On this blessed night, I remain convinced that together we will be able to overcome this ordeal thanks to the determination of our people, the genius of their children and the multiple capacities and potentials of our country.
To all of you, I appeal to vigilance for the prevention against the pandemic, urging you to redouble your attention in order to accelerate the way out of this situation and allow the return of conditions favorable to the resumption of activities of all sectors.
A strong society is one that knows how to show patience and resilience and transform the crisis into a leitmotif of a new beginning. Our society is strong and united, especially during difficult times in order to alleviate the suffering of the sick and the people impacted by the pandemic.
May Allah remove this affliction and save us from this pandemic, He is the best protector,
Eid Mubarak to all of you Algerians both inside and outside the country,
Eid Mubarak to the entire Muslim Ummah,
Long live Algeria, free, sovereign and haughty,
Glory and eternity to our valiant Chouhada “.
