ALGIERS – The number of new registrants in the trade register during the first half of 2020 recorded an increase compared to the same period of the previous year, despite the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, indicated, Tuesday, a statement from the Ministry of Commerce.
The number of new registrants in the trade register during the first half of 2020 reached 70,243 ones, an increase of 1,194 new registrants compared to the same period of 2019 (69,049 registrants), said the same source.
Despite the health situation, the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the particular situation experienced by commercial and industrial activities, registration in the trade register during the first half of the current year was not impacted, added the same source.
The number of new registrants in the trade register, natural and legal persons, reached 11,427 registered at the start of the year, an increase of 5.3% compared to March 2019 when 10,857 people registered.
The registration report shows 9,406 natural persons registered in March 2019 against 10,299 registered in March 2020, an increase of 8.7%, in addition to the registration of some 1,451 legal persons in March 2019 against 1,198 new registered during the same period of 2020, a decrease of 17.4%.
