Energy Minister, South Korean ambassador examine ways to strengthen partnership


ALGIERS- Minister of Energy Mohamed Arkab held, on Wednesday at the headquarters of his ministerial department, talks with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Algeria Lee Eun-Yon on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and partnership in the energy sector, said, Thursday, a statement from the ministry.

During this meeting, the two parties examined the state of cooperation and partnership relations between Algeria and the Republic of Korea in the field of energy, described as “excellent”, as well as the prospects for their development.

They, also, noted the “important” possibilities and opportunities for partnership and investment between the two countries in the energy field, the same source added.

To this end, the Minister invited Korean companies to invest in renewable energy and the petrochemical industry, which are a very important part of the government’s action program.

Arkab reiterated the importance for the sector of the transfer of know-how and technology, the exchange of experience as well as training.

For his part, the South Korean ambassador expressed satisfaction with the good relations between the two countries, while insisting on the firm intention of his country’s companies to continue to invest in Algeria, the statement concluded.
