ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of the National Defense, chaired, Tuesday, a ceremony for the naming of the headquarters of the People’s National Army after the late mujaheed, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah.
This initiative comes in recognition of the considerable efforts made by the late Gaïd Salah during the Glorious National Liberation War within the ranks of the National Liberation Army and his contribution, after independence, to the construction of the People’s National Army (ANP).
The ceremony was organized as part of the President of the Republic’s visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense. Upon his arrival at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, President Tebboune was greeted by Major General Saïd Chanegriha, Acting Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense.
Once the the national anthem was recited, military honors were given to the President of the Republic by the various forces of the ANP.
The President of the Republic, for his part, greeted the Commanders of the Forces of the ANP, the Republican Guard and the National Gendarmerie, as well as the Commander of the 1st Military Region, the controller general of the ANP and the heads of the ministry’s Departments and ANP Staff “.
