ALGIERS- The services of the province of Algiers highlighted, Wednesday in a press release, the imperative of rigor in the sense of individual and collective responsibility and extreme vigilance, avoiding all situations likely to contribute to the spread of the new Coronavirus on the occasion of Aid El Fitr.
Following the Prime Minister’s decision on additional measures for the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic, to be observed during Aid El-Fitr, the Wali / Governor of Algiers insisted on the need for rigor in the sense of individual and collective responsibility and extreme vigilance, and this, by avoiding all the situations likely to contribute to the spread of the Coronavirus, in particular family gatherings and social contacts, said the press release.
In this context, the wali of Algiers calls for total compliance with preventive measures, hygiene rules and social distancing, especially in closed and open public spaces, such as shops, markets and cemeteries, with the obligation of wearing a mask, in all circumstances. The primary objective and the purpose of this measure is the protection of citizens and their families against the consequences of this deadly pandemic.
“In accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during the meeting with the members of the Scientific Committee for monitoring the evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), the Prime Minister, Mr. Abdelaziz Djerad implemented additional preventive measures to be observed on the occasion of the celebration of Eid El Fitr, “said a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday.
“In this context, a partial lockdown at home will be applicable from 1:00 p.m. until the following day at 7:00 a.m. to all provinces during the two (02) days of the festival of Eid El Fitr,” said the same source. During these two days, the circulation of all vehicles, including motorcycles, will also be totally suspended “, added the press release.
