Coronavirus: First repatriation flight from Turkey scheduled

The operation to repatriate 1,788 Algerians stranded in Istanbul, Turkey, will begin on Friday April 3 and will last three days, a statement from the Interior Ministry and local authorities said on Thursday.

The operation to repatriate Algerian citizens stranded in Istanbul will is scheduled from April 3 to 5, on Air Algerie and Turkish Airlines planes, the same source added.

Algerian nationals will be placed in quarantine immediately upon arrival in Algeria, as part of the measures taken by the authorities of the country to stem the spread of Covid-19.

 
To this end, reception structures including hotels, tourist complexes located in the provinces of Algiers and Boumerdès, with a total capacity of 1,930 places, were requisitioned to ensure the best care for these people, pointed out the Interior Ministry.

Noting that since the start of the coronavirus health crisis, Algeria has repatriated more than 8,000 Algerians from different countries of the world.
