Coronavirus: Algeria receives first batch of medical aid from China


Algeria received a first batch of protective equipment and health products from China on Friday to contain the Covid-19.
This batch is made up, in particular, of means of prevention and artificial respirators.

On this occasion, the Minister Delegate responsible for the pharmaceutical industry, Lotfi Djamel Benbahmed, in a statement to the press, stressed that this gesture of China “denotes the depth and solidity of the bonds between the two peoples , repeatedly reiterated by the presidents of the two countries ”.

For his part, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Algiers reaffirmed the availability of his country to continue helping Algeria to cope with the coronavirus, while expressing his gratitude for the help of the Algerian part supplied to the Chinese people at the start of the pandemic.

Algeria had, it is recalled, sent at the beginning of last February a donation of 500,000 masks, 20,000 protective glasses and 300,000 gloves for China.

Noting that a total of 409 people have been tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) in 36 provinces of Algeria, including 26 deaths.
