ALGIERS- Minister of Communication, Government Spokesperson Amar Belhimer, gave instruction to the national press on Tuesday to comply a certain number of measures following the decisions of total and partial lockdown decided on Monday by President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune during the High Security Council meeting.

“In view of the exceptional health situation in our country today, the Minister of Communication, spokesperson for the Government, recalled the strategic nature of the public service mission of all the national press (both public and private), printed press, online press and audiovisual press, as well as printing staff and newspaper distributors, “said a statement from the ministry.

Mr. Belhimer underlined that “the national press, on the national scale and in particular on the local level, will maintain the continuity of its public utility missions by relaying the needs and concerns of the population, health services, security forces, Civil Protection and local authorities “.

The active personnel will circulate, for need of service, provided with a mission order in due form. The mission order must include a photo of the person concerned and must be accompanied by a copy of his professional card (for night traffic for Algiers, day and night for Blida), the statement added.

To this end, the directions of the various media “must establish precise lists of the personnel in service which will be “transmitted to the walis to issue the necessary free movement authorizations valid for ten (10) days and renewable if necessary”.

The national press “is invited to mobilize the personnel strictly necessary for the production of their editions”, concluded the press release from the ministry.
