LONDON- Algeria’s new Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Abderrahmane Benguerrah presented his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday.
The ceremony took place at Buckingham Palace, the sovereign’s official residence, in the presence, in particular, of the Ambassador’s close associates.
Queen Elizabeth II then held a private meeting with Mr. Abderrahmane Benguerrah, before greeting the members of the Algerian delegation.
After delivering his letters, Ambassador Abderrahmane Benguerrah hosted the traditional reception to crown the event at Chancellery headquarters for members of the diplomatic corps and guests representing the British authorities.
Before his appointment as Ambassador of Algeria to the United Kingdom, Mr. Benguerrah was Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He was also Ambassador to Senegal and the Gambia and served as an advisor to the Embassy of Algeria in Washington and to the Permanent Representation to the United Nations.
