Algeria, Mauritania determined to further strengthen bilateral relations


ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Thursday in Algiers the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians abroad, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed who delivered a message to him from his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazaouani.

The meeting took place at the seat of the Presidency of the Republic in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum and the Minister of Communication, official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, Belaïd Mohand Oussaid.

In a statement to the press at the end of the meeting, the Mauritanian head of diplomacy praised “the strategic relationship” that links Algeria and Mauritania, highlighting the determination of the two parties to further strengthen their bilateral relations.

“Our bilateral relations are excellent and we want to boost them further,” said the Mauritanian Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Ould Cheikh indicated that President Tebboune sent a “messages” to his Mauritanian counterpart to whom he sent an invitation to pay a visit to Algeria, saying he was “very optimistic about the exceptional relationship which binds the ‘Algeria and Mauritania “.
