ALGIERS- Major General Saïd Chanegriha, the acting chief of the Army Staff, said Monday the People’s National Army will always face up to “the enemies of the country and whoever attempts to undermine our national sovereignty,” the ministry of National Defense said in a statement.
Major General Saïd Chanegriha, Acting Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army (ANP), presided over a meeting at the headquarters of the ANP on Monday in Algiers with the presence of executives from the Ministry of National Defense and the ANP staff, said a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, the Force Commanders, the Heads of Departments of the MDN and the ANP Staff, the Directors and the Heads of Central Services and the Heads took part in this meeting.
At the start of the meeting, a minute of silence was observed for the soul of the deceased corps general Ahmed Gaïd Salah. The Major General of the ANP delivered an address in which he stressed “the primordial role that the ANP played alongside the Algerian people in the face of the dangerous plot which aimed at jeopardizing the stability of Algeria and the foundations of the state, and the neutralization of its constitutional institutions to sink it into a swamp of chaos and violence. ”

For Major-General Chanegriha, “the ANP contributed, alongside the security services, to the success of the organization of free, honest and transparent presidential elections, and to securing the electoral process in a climate of tranquility and serenity “.
