Three Algerian films awarded at Al-Quds Festival

GAZA- The Algerian Films “Ifrane” (Gratitude) by Salim Hamdi, “The Seven Ramparts of the Citadel” by Ahmed Rachedi and “Curse within shadows” by Imad Ghedjati were awarded at the 4th International Film Festival of Al-Quds, said the Palestinian media.

“Irfane” by Salim Hamdi and “The Seven Ramparts of the Citadel” by Ahmed Rachedi won respectively the Jury Prize of the Fiction Feature Film section and the Best Production Award.

“Curse within shadows” by Imad Ghedjati won the award for best film in the category of amateur films.

Salim Hamdi’s first feature film, “Irfane” (recognition), 110mn, deals with the story  of a moujahida, Yamina, camped by Chafia Boudrâa and that of her grandson, her fiancée and their friends…. young people who are talented and live without great future prospects.

Lasting 180 minutes, the feature film “The seven ramparts of the citadel” is an adaptation of the eponymous novel written by Mohamed Maarfia.

Created by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture in partnership with Palestinian cultural associations and Arab countries, Al Quds International Film Festival was launched simultaneously from twelve Arab cities including Algiers.
