13 mining claims in Tamanrasset: 28 technical bids successful

ALGIERS- Twenty-eight technical bids have been successful for the exploitation of 13 sites of marble and granite in the province of Tamanrasset (1971-km south of Algiers), the chairman of the management committee of the National Agency of Mining Activities (ANAM), Djamel Khelouf, said Tuesday.

ANAM has opened bids of 29 bidders who submitted their technical offers following the national and international call for tenders for the 49th auctioning session of 13 mining licenses intended exclusively for marble and granite decorative stones in the province of Tamanrasset.

Of the total number of its technical offers launched last November, 28 were retained against only one (01) bid rejected for non-compliance document during this auction session in the presence of bidders.

In this aspect, an ad hoc commission is in charge of the study and the analysis of accepted technical offers has been set.

Tenderers of eligible technical offers, in accordance with the provisions of the specifications, will be invited to submit their financial offer on 25 December.

 

Noting that this operation, in its 49th auctioning session was launched by the Ministry of Industry and Mines through the ANAM for the creation of a mining pole in the province of Tamanrasset, intended for these decorative rocks .

According to the ministry, the expected objective is the creation of a new mining center specializing in decorative rocks, mainly granite and marble “in a region with high mining potential”.

As a reminder, the previous auction session (48th) was launched in March this year. It concerned 8 mining deposits and 21 quarries spread over 15 provinces of the country. This resulted in the awarding of 18 mining permits for a total amount of 497 million DA.
