Prosecutor seeks 20 years jail for two former premiers Ouyahia, Sellal

Algeria – On the fourth day of  “vehicle assembly plants and illegal financing of the election campaign of former president Abdelaziz Bouteflika” trial, the prosecution issued his requisitions against several senior officials and oligarchs.

 

 The Prosecutor of the Republic at the Court of Sidi M’hamed (Algiers) on Sunday requested a 20 year sentence and one million dinars fine against two former prime ministers Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal, prosecuted in affairs of corruption and abuse of office, notably in the case of car assembly.

The same sentence has been requested against former minister of the Industry and Mine Abdessalem Bouchouareb.

An international warrant of arrest has been issued against Bouchouareb who is still at large.

Besides, the Prosecutor of the Republic requested 15 year prison sentence and one million dinars fine against two former ministers of the Industry Youcef Yousfi and Mahdjoub Bedda, ten year in prison and a 3 million DA fine against businessman  Ali Haddad, a ten year sentence and a fine of one 1 million against former governor of Boumerdes Yamina Zarhouni, the same request against Abdelghani Zaalane.
