Open trial of Sellal, Ouyahia, businessmen kicks off

The trial of the former leaders and businessmen involved in the corruption case related to automobile assembly kicked off, today, in the Sidi M’hamed court in Algiers. This trial was postponed by the defense lawyers for the lack of the appropriate conditions for a fair trial.


Thus, two former prime ministers, Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal, three former industry ministers, fugitive Abdessalem Bouchouareb,  Mehdjoub Bedda and Youcef Yousfi, a former Minister of Public Works and Transport, Abdelghani Zaalane, and Mounia Zerhouni, will appear before this court, along with four businessmen – Ali Haddad; Hassane Larbaoui, boss of KIA Motors Algeria; Ahmed Mazouz, boss of the group that bears his name; Mohamed Bairi, boss of the Ival group.
