New rail line Algiers-Tebessa commissioned


TEBESSA (Algeria)- A new railway line linking Algiers to Tebessa (600-km southeast of the capital) was put into operation Wednesday afternoon, in the presence of the general manager of the national railway company SNTF, Yacine Ben Djaballah, and local officials.

The new line, Tébessa / Alger, will was put into circulation with cars containing seats and berths, “completely renovated and meeting international standards for safety, quality and comfort”, said the same source.

The inaugural circulation of this new line took place in the afternoon of Wednesday by a departure from Tebessa to Algiers, SNTF added.

Departures from Tebessa will take place on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 pm, while train departures from Algiers will be held every Sunday, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:40 pm.
