Algeria-France: Role of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting bilateral cooperation highlighted


ALGIERS-Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Community at the National People’s Assembly (APN), Abdelkader Abdellaoui, welcomed on Wednesday, during the audience he granted to Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the French National Assembly Marielle de Sarnez, the role of parliamentary diplomacy in “promoting bilateral cooperation at high level.”

During the meeting, Abdellaoui affirmed that “Algerian-French relations are privileged and the level of cooperation and exchange in different fields has recorded a remarkable dynamic”, welcoming “the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the promotion of cooperation at high levels and this through the revival of all available mechanisms, “said a statement from the Lower House.

On this occasion, the president of the Algeria-France friendship parliamentary group Amel Doura met Ms. Marielle Sarnez.

She said, in this regard, that “Algeria is preparing to organize an important electoral event to allow the Algerian people to exercise their constitutional right and elect a president at the head of the country in full transparency and democracy”.

Ms Doura called for “strengthening parliamentary relations” through the friendship group which, she said, is “a communication tool allowing the exchange of visits and expertise”.

For her part, Ms. Marielle Sarnez welcomed the objectives achieved by the two countries in their economic and trade partnership, adding that “the parliamentarians of both countries are aware of the need to strengthen the path of bilateral cooperation “.
