ALGIERS- The 24th International Book Fair of Algiers (SILA 2019) has received, until Friday evening 1.150 million visitors, said Saturday in Algiers, the Commissioner of SILA fair, Mohamed Iguerb.
For the SILA Commissioner, this drop is due to “the visitors themselves and the classification of their priorities”.
He deplored, on the other hand, the “weak” budget of this year (55 million DA) compared to that of the previous year (60 million DA).
He added that this edition witnessed the participation of 1030 publishing houses from 36 countries, including 298 Algerian, 323 Arab and 409 from the rest of the world, as well as the exhibition of more than 25,000 book titles, covering all domains.
The Commissioner announced that the next edition, to be held from October 28 to November 6, 2020, will celebrate a quarter century of the creation of SILA.
The 24th SILA wrapped up on Saturday evening at the Expositions Palace “Pins Maritimes” (Safex).
