ALGIERS- Head of State Abdelkader Bensalah has received on Thursday in Algiers Tunisian Chief of Government Youssef Chahed, the Special Envoy of Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed, said a communiqué of the Presidency of the Republic.

During the meeting, which was held in the presence of Prime Minister Noureddine Bedoui, Youssef Chahed handed the head of state a message from the Tunisian president in which he presented his “best wishes on the occasion of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious Algerian Revolution “, expressing his country’s readiness to” lift the bilateral relations of fraternity to a strategic level reflecting their common history to achieve greater integration and complementarity in the service of development, stability and security for all, “reaffirming his intention to” visit Algeria as soon as possible “.

For his part, the head of state reaffirmed to his host the congratulations of Algeria “for the success of the last Tunisian presidential election, crowned by the election of Mr. Kaïs Saïd”, saying that this historic achievement “can further strengthen and deepen the exceptional cooperation and partnership relations in different fields, in the best interests of both countries and the two brotherly peoples, “the statement added.

Mr. Bensalah instructed the Special Envoy to convey to the President of the Republic of Tunisia “the availability of Algeria to welcome him with pride. ”

The meeting also “raised regional issues and challenges, including the crisis in Libya and stressed the need to continue consultations and coordination between the two countries in the face of security threats,” said the source.
