TLEMCEN – The kick-off of the 12th edition of the Abdelhalim Hemch National Exhibition “of the plastic arts was given, late Sunday afternoon, at the House of Culture” Abdelkader Alloula “of Tlemcen by the local authorities in the presence of many painters.
The edition of this year is distinguished by a strong participation of great Algerian painters, like; Noureddine Belhachemi of Oran, Mohamed Oulhaci of Mostaganem, Ali Hadj Tahar of Tipasa, Mustapha Nedjai and Mustapha Boussetta of Algiers, Ahmed Mebarki , Sebaa Rafik and Abdelkrim Belhrazem of Tlemcen and so many other artists recognized for their talents and their great experience in the visual arts.
The exhibition organized for this new edition includes more than 120 works inspired mostly by modernism and contemporary art that have subjugated, by their diversity, their themes and the palette with their resounding colors, the large audience who came to admire the elite of the Algerian painting present in Tlemcen.
This new edition will pay tribute to artist Denis Martinez, also present at this artistic event. A documentary film retracing the career of this great artist will be presented Monday morning to the public at the House of Culture. The documentary film directed by Claude Hirsch discusses the recent work of the painter Denis Martinez, and his career since his first works in 1961. His work is a continuation of the ancient art of Algeria, as well as the cave drawings of the Tassili.
The public was Monday in direct contact with this eminent Algerian painter who had devoted many years to teaching and training at the National School of Fine Arts.
The program of this 12th edition of the national fair also includes several activities, including animated workshops for the benefit of schools of fine arts supervised by the artists Hachemi Ameur and Belkhorissat Abdelkader at the Sidi Boumediène religious complex.
This edition will also include round tables that will revolve around plastic art in general.
