KHENCHELA- Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning Salah Eddine Dahmoune called on Tuesday the Algerians to make from the next presidential election a “new era.”

In an address delivered during a meeting with representatives of civil society, held at the headquarters of the wilaya, after a working and inspection visit in the wilaya, the minister said that the next elections “will be the beginning of a historic era of breaking with past practices, in which the citizen will elect whoever will represent him at the head of state institutions.”

Dahmoune also sent a message to Algerians, urging them to participate strongly in the upcoming presidential elections and to “choose the best person able to lead the country and  to bring it back to the right path.

In the same context, Mr. Dahmoune stressed that “the next elections will be an opportunity for citizens to build a new Algeria in tune with its history and abort the attempts of those who want to harm the country”.

Assuring that his ministerial department “will work to remove all obstacles to development”, the minister invited citizens to restore trust with state institutions.

He added: “It is the duty of the Government to support the renaissance of promising young people and to enhance their achievements by providing them with all the necessary resources and developing development strategies that will enable the Algerian population to take an active part in the building of its future “.

He also pleaded for the preservation of the unity of the homeland, which requires “getting in hand and mobilizing around the National People’s Army, always ready to face all the plots against the country, both inside and abroad “.
