Tourism Minister to take part, in Tunis, in meeting of Arab Tourism, Culture ministers

ALGIERS- Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry Abdelkader Benmessaoud will take part from 15 to 17 October, in Tunis, in the 2nd meeting of Arab Tourism and Culture ministers.

This participation is part of “the consolidation of the presence of Algeria in the various commissions and Councils of the Arab League and the realization of its membership in the Working Group Initiative of Tourism and Civilizational and Cultural Heritage of the Arab countries, “said Monday a statement from the Ministry.

This meeting will examine “several issues related to the tourism and culture sectors in the Arab world, beginning with the evaluation of the decisions of the 1st meeting, held last year” besides “ways to promote the contribution of tourism and culture sectors in supporting the economy, strengthening national identity through the common cultural heritage, and encouraging the exchange of experiences among Arab countries in the fields of education, training and human resource development “.

Participants will also discuss “the theme of promoting the tourist and cultural legacy and the implementation of new working strategies to consolidate joint action in the Arab cultural tourism sector and its integration into sustainable tourism programs”, added the same source.

On this occasion, the Minister will hold bilateral talks with his counterparts from Arab countries, members of the Arab League Initiative and Tourism Commission. In addition to presenting the experience of Algeria in promoting the cultural tourism sector, he will discuss with his interlocutors ways and means of cooperation with our brothers in Arab countries, the statement concluded.
